Our Commitment
to Safety
At Trucore Contracting, safety is not a checkbox — it is the foundation of every decision we make on and off the jobsite. We believe that every worker deserves to go home safe, every day.
How We Work
Six Pillars of Jobsite Safety
Our safety program is built on a foundation of training, accountability, and continuous improvement — applied consistently on every project, regardless of size.
OSHA 10 & 30 Certified
Our leadership team holds OSHA 10 and OSHA 30 certifications, ensuring every project is managed by professionals trained in federal safety standards, hazard recognition, and regulatory compliance.
CHST Credentialed
Trucore holds the Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) credential — a nationally recognized certification demonstrating advanced competency in construction safety and health management.
Site-Specific Safety Plans
Before breaking ground, we develop a comprehensive, site-specific safety plan for every project. These plans address unique hazards, emergency procedures, and daily safety protocols tailored to the scope of work.
Daily Jobsite Inspections
Our superintendents conduct daily safety walkthroughs to identify and correct hazards before they become incidents. We document findings and track corrective actions to maintain a continuous improvement culture.
Subcontractor Safety Standards
Every subcontractor on a Trucore project is held to the same safety standards as our own team. We pre-qualify subs on safety performance and conduct regular toolbox talks to keep safety top of mind for all workers on site.
Incident Prevention First
We operate with a zero-incident mindset. Our proactive approach — hazard identification, near-miss reporting, and ongoing safety training — means we address risks before they result in injuries or project delays.
Standard Practices
General Contractor Safety Standards
These are the core safety practices Trucore enforces on every project — from small tenant improvements to large-scale commercial builds.
Pre-Task Planning
Every crew begins each day with a pre-task planning meeting. Foremen review the day's scope, identify potential hazards, confirm PPE requirements, and ensure all workers understand the safety expectations before work begins.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Hard hats, high-visibility vests, safety glasses, and steel-toed boots are mandatory on all Trucore jobsites. Additional PPE — respirators, hearing protection, fall arrest systems — is required based on task-specific hazard assessments.
Fall Protection
Falls are the leading cause of construction fatalities. Trucore enforces 100% fall protection at six feet and above, including guardrails, personal fall arrest systems, and safety nets. Competent persons inspect all fall protection equipment before each use.
Electrical Safety
Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures are strictly enforced during any work on or near energized equipment. Ground fault circuit interrupters (GFCIs) are required on all temporary power, and overhead power line clearances are maintained at all times.
Excavation & Trenching
All excavations deeper than five feet are protected by sloping, shoring, or trench boxes per OSHA standards. A competent person inspects all excavations daily and after any rain event before workers are permitted to enter.
Emergency Response
Every Trucore jobsite has a posted emergency action plan, first aid kit, and at least one CPR/AED-certified team member on site at all times. Emergency contact numbers and the nearest hospital route are communicated to all workers at project kickoff.
Credentials
Safety Certifications & Training
Our team holds a comprehensive portfolio of safety certifications that go well beyond minimum requirements. We invest in training because we believe a well-trained team is a safe team.
Safety Is Non-Negotiable
When you hire Trucore, you get a contractor who takes the safety of your project — and every person on it — as seriously as you do.
